Hever Castle

Saturday was soggy and wet, but we ventured out anyway to Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. The castle was rather small, but interesting. The gardens, though, were exquisite. Absolutely lovely, even drenched in rain.

After wandering through the gardens, we trudged through mud to watch a good old fashioned joust.

The joust put Penny straight to sleep.

I think we all have this secret inner dream to move to England and explore castles and gardens. My inner "Lizzy Bennett" is really jealous of all your adventures.

So interesting to see that events and places we've read about really do exist, not just in movies.
