Mostly what I kept thinking the whole time is what a phenomenal job you must be doing. Here is this happy, bright-eyed, safe, clean, articulate, adorable child. I have a sense now of the work that goes into every bit of that. No one is a perfect mom and no one is a perfect kid, but I hope you see this as evidence that you're doing something beautiful and worthwhile with your days.
